Plan for about 21 days
Orders from China usually take about 21 days to reach Bhutan. That is longer than India (about 7 days) or Thailand (about 10 days), so China works best when you plan ahead. If you are shopping for a festival, a wedding, a new school term or year-end gifts, place your China orders first and leave a little extra room for the seller’s own dispatch time. For things you need urgently, check whether a similar item is available from India or Thailand instead.
What does shipping cost?
Shipping from China is BTN 990 per kg. Because the rate is by weight, light and compact items are usually the best value from China. A few habits help:
- Look for the package weight. The shipping or packed weight on the listing is a better guide than the product weight alone.
- Think about bulk. Large, light items in big boxes can cost more than you expect. Items that fold or pack flat are easier to ship.
- Compare the total, not just the price. A cheap but heavy item may cost less overall from India or Thailand, where delivery is faster too.
Know what can fly

- Read the variant list carefully. The low price shown first is often for the smallest or most basic option.
- Check ratings and real photos. Prefer sellers with many reviews and customer pictures.
- Watch for deals that look too good to be true. Unrealistic specs or “buy one, get many free” offers are a warning sign.
- Use measurements. Check sizes in centimetres, and compare model or part numbers for accessories and spare parts.
- Order early in sale seasons. Big sales mean busy sellers, so allow extra time on top of the usual 21 days.
