November and December bring some of the biggest online sales of the year, from 11.11 on Chinese platforms to year-end clearance on Indian and Thai shopping sites. With a little planning, you can make the most of these sale seasons and still get your parcels home in Bhutan on time. Here is a simple plan for shopping smart with DrukBees.
1. Know your delivery timelines before you shop
The single most important thing to plan around is how long your order takes to reach Bhutan. With DrukBees, delivery takes about:
- 7 days from India
- 10 days from Thailand
- 21 days from China
If you are buying a gift for a family celebration, a festival or the new year, count backwards from the date you need it. Orders from China in particular need to be placed early, so a sale near the end of the year may be too late for a gift you need by a certain day.
2. Make a wishlist before the sale starts
Sale days move fast, and popular items sell out. Add the products you want to your cart or wishlist a few days ahead, and note the normal price. That way you can see whether the “sale” price is really a saving, and you can place your order quickly when the sale opens.
3. Think about weight, not just price
For orders from Thailand and China, shipping is charged by weight: BTN 650 per kg from Thailand and BTN 990 per kg from China. A cheap but heavy item, like a bulky appliance or a big pack of household goods, can cost more to bring home than it saves. Light, compact items such as clothing, accessories and small gadgets usually give you the best value during sales.
4. Check the listing carefully
Big sale events attract deals that look too good to be true. Before you order, check the seller’s ratings and reviews, read the product description closely, and confirm the size, colour or model you want. Clear details help us place your order correctly the first time.
5. Remember what cannot fly
Some items cannot travel by air cargo, such as many batteries, liquids, aerosols and flammable goods. If you are unsure about an item, ask us before you buy so your sale purchase does not get stuck.
6. Combine orders where you can
If you are buying several things from the same country, planning them together makes tracking easier and helps you keep an eye on total weight and cost.
